As you plan a garage sale, please note that a permit is not required. Garage sales are limited to one sale of no more than three consecutive days, once per quarter each calendar year. Sales may not begin before 8 a.m. and must end by 8 p.m. One sign per lot is permitted. Signs may not be placed in the right-of-way. For more information, call the Code Enforcement Office, 937-428-4712.
Each year in the spring, Centerville coordinates a citywide garage sale. Centerville residents may register their sale at no cost and receive one sign as well as advertising in a newspaper and on the City website. The City also prepares a list of all registered addresses and a brief list of items for sale that will be available on the website as well as for pickup at City locations. The week following the garage sale, the City offers free bulk-item pickup for our waste collection customers.
The 2019 Citywide Garage Sale is set for May 2 - 4. Sales will take place 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. in neighborhoods throughout Centerville. Registration opens March 4. You may register on the website or complete the form in the spring issue of the Town Crier.
Following the garage sale is the City’s annual free bulk item pickup, May 6 -9, for all Centerville waste collection customers. Items should be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your regular waste collection day.
