As you plan a garage sale, please note that a permit is not required. Garage sales are limited to one sale of no more than three consecutive days, once per quarter each calendar year. Sales may not begin before 8 a.m. and must end by 8 p.m. One sign per lot is permitted. Signs may not be placed in the right-of-way. For more information, call the Code Enforcement Office, 937-428-4712.
Each year in the spring, Centerville coordinates a citywide garage sale. In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, City leadership has made the decision to cancel this year’s Citywide Garage Sale for the safety of our residents and staff and to prevent the spread of illness. We look forward to a 2021 Citywide Garage Sale that will be twice as enticing for shoppers. All residents will need to register again, and we will make sure the opportunity is shared widely with the community. Centerville residents may register their sale at no cost and receive one sign as well as advertising in a newspaper and on the City website. The City also prepares a list of all registered addresses and a brief list of items for sale that will be available on the website as well as for pickup at City locations. The week following the garage sale, the City offers free bulk-item pickup for our waste collection customers (this has also been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic).
For more information about the citywide sale or bulk pickup week, call (937) 433-7151.
