The City of Centerville is working with Cornerstone Developers on the installation of an art piece at the Cornerstone of Centerville Development. Located between Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Hand and Stone Massage, Celebration was sculpted by Stephen Canneto and features 18-foot stainless steel figures and a dichroic glass sphere. A public dedication ceremony will be scheduled at a later date.

Celebration
2020 | Artist Stephen Canneto

This sculpture celebrates the strong sense of community that reflects the principles of Quality, Integrity and Commitment valued by the City of Centerville, the Oberer Companies, Cornerstone Developers, Canneto Studios and the Charles and Evelyn Dille Family.

These values are portrayed by citizens of all ages joined in celebration, creating stability for upholding and advancing progress. The stainless steel figures evoke timeline traditions of people united across generations to produce a thriving community in which to live, work, learn and play. Their uplifting movement creates feelings of joy and support for each other and all members of the community. Light reflecting from the sphere’s dichroic glass produces changing colors, symbolizing the community’s diversity and ever-shifting opportunities to advance well-being, progress and growth.

As part of the gateway to Cornerstone Park, Celebration forms a transition between the vibrant commercial area and the serenity of nature, creating a sense of place, destination and identity.
