Vectren Pipeline Work
Vectren will replace an existing 20” natural gas transmission line between Yankee Street and Wilmington Pike, beginning late June with an estimated completion during the first week of October 2021. Residents and businesses affected by construction will be notified of the work and timeline of the project. See a Fact Sheet here.
Vectren, a CenterPoint Energy company, is required to conduct federally regulated pipeline testing, routine maintenance and replacement/relocation construction.
The project will be completed within the existing 50’-wide right-of-way and the adjacent 20’ temporary easements. Vectren’s easements grant the right to “operate, maintain, repair, replace and remove” its gas pipeline. Right-of-way clearing will also include the removal of fencing that is within, on or impeding access to the right-of-way. The fencing will be reinstalled at Vectren’s cost after the completion of construction in a similar or better condition than it exists now.
Restoration of the project area will be performed by Vectren’s subcontractor after construction work has been completed and will be subject to weather conditions. Vectren will provide a copy of the landowner’s easement upon request. While Vectren recognizes that this work can be inconvenient, the company says it is vital for maintaining the integrity of
